The Neptune Project
The Neptune Project is about a girl named Nere who finds herself genetically modified by her mother since birth to live in the ocean, away from the dystopian world on land. After a few years of being deceived by her mother that Nere's father is dead, she discovers that her father is actually opening a safe haven in the ocean for more people like Nere. Nere has to face unknown dangers of the ocean as she journeys with a group of kids to the haven under the sea.

The Neptune Challenge
The second book continuing The Neptune Project introduces more danger as Nere (a girl genetically engineered to survive in the ocean) goes on a mission to protect her colony by stealing a vital scientific secret from a fortress built by her father's rival, another scientist who ruthlessly replicates Nere's father's work.
